About the Department

Established: 1995 PG since 2013 FYUGP Programmes

The Department of Mathematics in Shree Vidyadhiraja College of Arts & Science began its journey in the year 1995. Right from its inception, the Department has attempted to set high standards of teaching and learning and became a Post-Graduate Department in the year 2013.

The department has come across remarkable achievements during the year 2007 by securing 3rd rank and subsequently achieved 2nd, 3rd & 4th rank during the year 2011 which adds colors to the department.

Through the journey, apart from BSc and MSc Degree Programs, it offers Mathematics as a Complementary Course for the Physics and BCA Degree Programs. The Department also offers a Course in Operations Research for aspiring students from non-Mathematics Degree streams as an Open Course.

A high standard is maintained in the department when it comes to developing young minds. Many students in the department are members of NSS and NCC and take part in camps and other social welfare programs.

The Bachelor Degree in Mathematics program provides students with a strong foundation in Linear Algebra, Group Theory, Differentiation, Integration, Python, R and LaTeX. The students can opt for four-year BSc Mathematics (Hons) or BSc Mathematics (Hons with Research) Programme.
